AIDS in Morocco

 In Morocco, AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a low-prevalence epidemic, affecting approximately 0.07-0.08% of the general population (21,200 people are living with HIV).

- This epidemic is primarily concentrated in certain populations, such as sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, and migrants.

- The Moroccan regions with the highest concentration of HIV-positive individuals are Souss-Massa, Casablanca-Settat, and Marrakech-Safi.

- Morocco is making progress in the fight against this epidemic, with a national strategy (2024-2030) aiming to eliminate the disease by 2030, thanks to significant decreases in new infections and deaths.

- 760 people were newly infected with HIV (Human Immune Deficiency Virus) recently in Morocco.
