The Telecom in Morocco has seen tremendous growth since the privatization of the sector in the late 90s of last century, the penetration rate is higher than the number of the population.
The increase in 2014 appears to have profited much to Méditel that other operators , this operator has added almost 700,000 new subscribers during the three first quarter of 2014 , bringing the subscribers to Méditel at 13.7 million mobile subscribers ; but the historical operator Maroc Telecom remains the undisputed master of mobile sector in Morocco with 18.4 million of subscribers .
At the end of September 2014 mobile sector in morocco amounts to 44.26 million mobile subscribers among which 41.96 million subscribers of prepaid subscription , with a penetration rate of 133.4 % at the end of September, the average consumption per mobile client is 92 minutes per month until September 2014 .
As for the number of internet subscribers , it is 8.5 million at the end of September 2014, with ADSL , it recorded a significant increase during the three first quarter.
The average price of home or wire telephone communication is 0.77DH per minute, registering an increase of 12% since September 2013, on the contrary, mobile communications had seen a significant drop of 23% from September 2013 to September 2014 ,the price dropped from 0.43DH to 0.33DH per minute. the wire or home telephone market is shared between three operators , Morocco Telecom 56.51 % , 42.13 % of Wana Corporate and Méditel 7.8 %.
