Fertility in Morocco falls

September 21, 2017 HASSAN

– The fertility in Morocco has been divided by three since 1960, due to the use of the means of contraception, and in spite of the decrease of the infantile mortality.

-This fertility decline is due among other things to the decline in marriage age and literacy of women but also men and marriage has become unattractive  given the high cost of living.

-Today in Morocco the rural woman has 2.55 children whereas in the city the woman has 2.05, in certain developed countries (Germany, Japan) this rate is 1.5 children per woman they are in phase of demographic decline also due to city life is more expensive in addition to unemployment.

-This demographic transition lasted three centuries in the West, while in Morocco it lasted 30 years.
